Summary
Factory Entertainment has released a limited edition prop replica of the Black Manta helmet from the DCEU film Aquaman.
The character, David Kane (played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), created this advanced battle suit using his technical expertise combined with Atlantean technology to seek revenge against Aquaman for the death of his father, Jesse Kane. "Black Manta" is born. Well, that's nice and all, but it's simply too hot now.
The original on-screen Black Manta suit utilized a combination of physical props and computer-generated imagery (CGI). During filming, the helmet was often entirely CGI, with physical helmets used only when augmented in post-production due to restricted visibility and movement constraints for the actor. For this replica project, Factory Entertainment commissioned the original prop house to create an additional original helmet specifically for this purpose. This first-generation original was used to create molds and patterns for the production run, ensuring accuracy to the source material.
